depends on what series and model, for the 7800 GTX and the 8800 GTX 70-90 Celcius is normal.... under load or idle.... my 7800 GTX sits at 65 celcius and shoots up to 72 celcius when benchmarking...

The Nvidia chips are built to withstand an operating temperatire up to 115 celcius... but over 95 celcius they start to exibit problems.... and too high and the problems become permanent.
