Try to avoid Seagate at all costs, they are made my Maxtor now. You can get a comparable Western Digital drive for generally the same price.

Foxconn is a lower quality motherboard manufacturer, look for something like the XFX 8200, it is an excellent board, and the onboard video will play wow just fine.

If you buy a black edition AMD cpu, then you will need to but a heat sink fan, they do not come in the box.

8gigs of ram?? I hope you planned on running the 64bit version of windows; if not then you do not need over 4, well really 3 but it is better to buy in even number pairs.

Make sure the CD/DVD driver you are getting is SATA, this one is $20

thats like a runner with a good heart but weak legs.

yaaaaaaaaaa

8GB of ram is a bit overkill............... 1 TB of HDD space on one drive is scary

that video card will bottleneck that whole computer at atrocious levels in games, may as well be running a 6800GT still.

ive never done this before i was just doing the cheeper/ just getting what i want thing the 8gb of ram is cheep and i figure if i get the max possable i wouldent have to upgrade later. yeah overkill is a word but i thnik it'll be worth it.

ok so i changed the mother board and added that cd/dvd drive. any advise on a video card?. i want to runn ever thing possable and i want to keep that tv input cuz i dotn have a tv in my dorm room but im buying a flat screen computer monitor so i wanted to use that as my monitor. i was hopinf for a dual output so i could have 2 screens but if thats not possable my heart will not be broken. :D thanks guys

As for a video card, in the $130 range your best bet will be a Nvidia 8800GT, still a strong running card and is cheap. If you want to move up to the $300 area check out the Nvidia 260 w/ the 216 stream processor unlock. The ATI 4870's can be found around $300 too and are good cards, however I stick with Nvidia due to being burnt by ATI in the past.... so.... use your discretion.

Back to the 8GB of ram, you will NEVER use all 8GB's unless you're doing some hardcore 3d/video rendering..... I have yet to see my 4GB of ram maxed out, that's even when rendering 8GB full HD videos...

Back to my 1TB on a single drive is scary...... Hard Drives die all the time, having 1 TB of stuff on a single drive is just asking for a headache, sure it's convenient and the $ per GB is cheaper but beware, make sure you are backing up to DVD's or what I would do is, keep the money you save from 4GB of ram instead of 8, and buy another 1TB HDD, and run them in RAID 1.

Here is the 260 w/ 216 Processing cores:

if u wanna save money, flip the expenses on the cpu and video card. buy something cheaper than a quad-core (as low as a 3.0Ghz dual-core, and spend the rest on an 8800gt, 9800gt, or greater...

8GB ram? running two 30" monitors with 3d graphing utilities running at the same time?

on the 1tb HD. i fully understand and now that you point that out I do have one more sloot I could easely put another one in or a lesser drive use that as my main drive and back everythign to the 1Tb? does that sound like a good idea ? i do have an external 1TB already i use now but only to back up stuff. so... idk i got some stuff to think about.
the diffrence between the ram im looking at is only $20
i could get just 6gb and we call it a compramise. ;)
