Hey all. Want to thank you all for your assistance with my computer being "sluggish". Since it's so cheap, I decided to just go ahead and buy a new HD and toss it in. My question now is to decide what my best course of action for getting it up and running is.

First of all. Should I copy everything over to the new drive (lots of music and pics, so not really looking forward to fresh fresh install of everything) or install from a fresh point? If copying the old HD to the new is your suggestion, how do I go about doing that? I've installed HD's before, but only dealt with completely dead drives, so never even had the option to copy before.

My second question is, my current HD seems to be working, just a little slow. I've never set up any type of raid before, so don't have the slightest clue as to how to do that, but it seems as though that might not be a bad idea. However, it would be using an HD that "might" be failing, so not sure that is worth my time and effort.

What do you "experts" think?

Stab you may have a lot of questions, read this article that I read when I did this the first time, it explained a lot of the things that popped up.

Also. that guide does a good job of explaining why your doing what your doing. so you dont walk away with a HD without learning what you just did and why you did it.
