OK, I am downloading the 8.7 gig file now from File Planet. Get your beta keys at least now, going quick. http://www.fileplanet.com/
This will be my first real MMO ever. When we played Star Wars galaxy/Warcraft everybody gave me my stuff, never earned anything.
I am starting from the begining, getting addicted, than quit cause I am pissed at something/somebody, but join up later because my homies miss me and I miss them, then finaly kill anything that has to do with this game in six months because of all the in breed fighting, MMO..................

This post makes me REALLY long for the old "Quote of the Day" feature...I'd add that one DSRU. :)

Btw DSRU, you are right...having things handed to you by veterans when you're a beginner can definitely be overwhelming. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Wow, I see you can now also buy the DELUXE (or standard) digital download version of this via Steam and get some special perks. Cool!

Huh? Star Trek online? I haven't heard anything about that. Ima gonna check the reviews out. Those dang Jett dudes got me into WOW the second time around and I was off and running for 3 and a half years. Ssssshhhh! Don't tell anyone I have 8 level 80's in WOW now but quit playing. I finally burned out and it wasn't as much fun without the gang around.

Well,
I played for about 45 minutes after 4 different tries. I kept getting 2+ gig updates and could not play.
So, I quess its cool. There is something about a game that is really a on-line chat room (not frag chat when we use to play) that just turns me off. Everybody wants to talk, and you have to interact for gear, and all I want to do is kill, hide, snipe, etc..........
So, it does not offcialy come out till Feb 10th I think, so I will play till then and decide if I am going to buy and" pay to play".
Same old MMO junk, just real cool trek stuff.

BTW, if you have a Cryptic site login name (which you do if you're playing this beta), give it to me for Cryptic friends list.
Mine is Thorzon

Well, as most of you know I never really liked a MMO. And if you know me I am a diehard St fan, hell, my daughter is named after a ST charactor. Natasha YAR JADE RUSILKO. The grandma's made me add the Jade............ :)
I just could not get into it. In order to advance, you must talk with people, work together and chat all the time, and cant really do a lot by yourself. So, when the beta was over, so was I. I tried guys, but I just cant get into a game that you have to pay to play and play for hours to get anywhere. I really did try and failed. It has been uninstalled from my puter........

It's been reviewed horribly, it looks horrible, it looks like an MMO from 2000. May as well just pass it up.
