So, as you can see their are a thousand things to do here and a thousand things showing. i think Willow brought up a good point and so did Omega.

There is way to much stuff here!

I have turned most things on to make sure they work and to be quite frank, there is a lot of stuff we dont need, duplication, just stupid, etc.

I would like honest truthful opinions as to what is cool, what we should keep, what we should shitcan, what is..........., etc.

Now is your chance to state your mind without me banning you! :eek:

Just so you know, I never wanted everything to show, but what I want maybe the community dosnt and vice versa.

I've gotten into the habit of just viewing the 'new posts' - Should there be an application or other thing that is ignored for a while, people will just forget about it.

The old page didn't have this issue.

Well here's how I look at it.

What you can add/edit/and take away is severly limited by software being used. vBulletin is an AWESOME forum system, however, where it falls severely short is in overall functionality. There are tons of awesome modifications out there, however to get "website functionality" out of a piece of forum software, there is a METRIC ASS TON of jury rigging right there.

Now for changes/removal....

The User CP Box on the Left Column is redundant, on the upper right we already have our welcome as well as PM Notification, it doesn't say New Posts but we'll touch on that in a second.

The Navigation Menu should always be the first thing on top left, and it should ALWAYS be displayed.

The Online Users box is fine as is.

Downloads box should be scrapped entirely imo. We have forums, if someone feels the need to share a download, they can post it there. However if this isn't a option leave it as is, it can be minimized and it's at the bottom. Instead of having the box, just link to the Downloads section (http://www.jettcommunity.com/downloads.php) in the Navigation Menu.

Scrap the Stats box, it's redundant, the same info is shown on the bottom the forum.

Middle Column is fine on the main page.

On to the right column, I'd simply move the "Recent Threads" box to the top, this will take care of the User CP New Posts not being there.

Ditch the Blogs, I don't think anyone will use them. other then that...... I think I stated my case.

At first I was skeptical about the chatbox, but it can be minimized, and is also nice for idle chit chat since it has a nice refresh rate.

Those are my beefs, I understand everyone has different preferences, but I'm looking at this from my view point.

I agree with all of Willow's suggestions and suggest adding one piece of redundancy. On the top menu bar, on the far left, add a Home link. I don't know why but my hand-eye coordination keeps moving to that spot when i want to refresh the whole page. I'd actually prefer a forums links there as well, but that's really adding more redundancy.

Maybe it's just time to retrain the brain.

I agree with willow as well, i see no point to blogs. As a suggestion, is there anyway to get the random photo viewer on the page, like what was on the old page?

it dosnt have a bazillion options that a user can try and figure out for hours. vB was not cheap, I OWN it, and it set me back couple of hundred back in the day. Now I still pay 30 a year and for that kind of many I feel cheap not using it all. :p

Understandable... What I wish is that user's could customize their own layout/front page, so they can add the blocks as they see fit.
