What gives with the free version of AVG? I tried uninstalling re-downloading and repairing and I can't get it working anymore. It keeps saying Internal Database is out of date but I've updated it and just the virus protection dosen't work. Anyone else with AVG having this problem?

I've had this problem before. Uninstall, then you want to go through your registry and remove anything having to do with AVG and/or GriSoft. Once that is done, make sure everything related to it is off your HD. Proceed to reinstall.

Omg, check this reason out. The date/time in windows was wrong so it got all confused and thought it was May so it wouldn't update correctly. Corrected date/time and I'm up and running.

Install the free version of this Anti-Virus www.avast.com go to downloads and find avastHome edition. Its free. Works good for me and Fire Fox for internet explorer is the best.

Nothing can beat NOD32. When they take the Pepsi challenge NOD32 takes it to the hole and dunks on all other AV programs. Then talks smack to them and steals thier girlfriends!

And the other companies just cry "no fair, we cant detect day 0 viruses" boohoo

I use NOD32 in case it wasnt obvious. :)
