PS3 and COD4 question

Hey guys. Looking for some help here. I don't personally have a PS3, so I'm a bit in the dark here. Anyway. What I'm trying to do is hook 2 PS3's together on 2 different t.v.s and have 2v2 matches of COD4. I hope that makes sense. So is it possible? If so, what do I need for hardware?

You should just need a LAN to play across, and obviously the PS3's. You should definitely friend me on the PSN, gamer id in my sig.

Thanks for the reply demon. Unfortunately, neither of the PS3's belong to me :( Will probably be quite a while before I can justify buying one.

If the PS3 version is the same as the Xbox version, I don't think what you suggest is possible. For network play it will not do split screen, so you'd have to have 4 consoles and 4 TVs to play 2v2. I have not been able to figure a way to do split screen over the network, so it could just be me though. We play 2v2 split screen all the time on a single TV though. Its fun but the screen peeking is annoying.

Couldn't you start a private party with your guest and then invite the other guy and his guest? Thats what I was thinkin might work.

as far as i know....guest still must be on their own box though. i haven't seen anything that allows multiple people to join a networked game from a single box. let me know if you find a way to do it though!

Thanks for the help all. Unfortunately we weren't able to try it though as the other guy with the PS3 stood us up :( Oh well. We still had fun playing 3 player mode :)
