Now remember if you spend it on gas, groceries, clothes, electronics, or just about anything else you are not stimulating our economy you are stimulating China and the Middle East.

That's because you're a filthy rich bastard. :D :D :D
This money is going to stimulate my savings account. Which will go towards purchasing our house. In a round about way it will be stimulating the portion of our economy that is currently in the most need.

Hey Giant,
I'm on the other end of that one...my four tax deductions have grown up and two of them are gone. I'm pretty sure the teenage years MORE than makeup for any benefits you have right now. :) So, take that money you're getting and multiply it while you can...you're gonna need it! :)

Not to get off subject but yea, kids are definately a short term gain and a long term loss. hehe. I may have to get them into basketball early. See if I can produce some future NBA power forwards. :) if they are like the old man they are going to be 6'4" MINIMUM!! Maybe they will pay off in the end. hehe

I have two foreign exchange sons that were 6'5" and 6'8", both played college ball on full rides first string and one was a repeat all American in NAIA. Neither are playing pro currently. Good luck Giant!
Oh and don't forget that the money from the "stimulus" will be taxable on '08's taxes. That's right, the government is giving you this money from taxes they took and you will be taxed on it. So, don't forget to declare it as "income".

Q. Is my Stimulus Payment taxable?
A. No. You will not owe tax on your payment when you file your 2008 federal income tax return. But you should keep a copy of the IRS letter you receive later this year listing the amount of your payment. In the event you do not qualify for the full amount this year but you do next year, you will need to have the letter as a record of the amount you previously received.
