Being in college with these kids, I definitely agree that they are too pampered. I've 20 year olds throwing temper tantrum in dorm hallways because their room mate isn't doing something their way.
My mom never had much of anything and I've been forced to get out and work towards a better life for me whether I liked it or not, and now I can say, I thank her for it. Parents need to remember the lessons they learned in life and make sure their kids learn them early.

People just need to cowboy up imo. Grow a pair and deal with it. Become independent...you'll be a better person for it.
I'm sure it would be hard to leave your kid in a situation they don't like, but guess what, if they can't handle that and you bail them out, what failures later in life are they going to have and you are going to bail them out.
