playing crysis

Hey i have this question,soon i will be buying me new computer,and i want to make sure that with my new computer i will be able to play crysis at least on medium graphics,i read the recoomended requirments on the crysis website,and when it comes to the videocard it says that it recommends a nvidia 7800 or better,my question is ,is the 8600gts better than the 7800?,will my 8600gts be able to run the game well?.I am also founding another problem when it comes to decide which videocard to buy,i decided that a 8600 gts seems to be a quite good videocard,but then when i started searching which one to buy i found that there were like 90 8600gts,and they all have very diferent prices,so its becoming hard to me to decide which one to buy,should i look on an specific detail of the videocard,the core memory,or what?.if someone could tell me on what should i look when buying a new videocard,i would appreciete.

ps:remember i live in Uruguay ,so pls dont tell me to buy a 9600 or whatever for 300 cuz it will surely dont cost that here,videocards here are about 40% more expensive than in usa:)
and pls i need help!!!this videocard thing is driving me crazy,too many thinks to look,and i dont know which one to choose.

I havent been able to play the actual game yet because my DVD drive is on the fritz. New pair of DVD drives arriving tuesday.

But, the demo of the game, with my MSI 8800 GT 512 OC defaults to medium settings. Now, at those settings it played the demo extremely well. I didnt notice any areas of low fps. AA will of course kill fps but who needs AA in the jungle. not to many straight lines anyways. ;)

for these prices and the fact that the 8800 GT is absolutely twice the card, at minimum, the 8600 is I think you should be looking at it. And for that price all you have to do is mow a few more lawn and you can get another one for SLI.

should play well. I finished the game and there WILL be scences were your FPS will drop to below 10! Make sure you patch it to 1.2, this address the FPS issues.

even with the patch in some scences the fps will drop to 10?

Update:
I just loaded Crysis. And it defaulted everything to HIGH. I added 4x AA and turned the resolution up to 1280x800 or whatever 16 x 10 is, and it plays just fine. I get a bit choppy when Im in the small shacks for some reason. Probably all the vector calculations through the window outdoor stuff maybe?!?! Who knows, but when im in the jungle, in a firefight with like 10 guys throwing grenades at me it doesnt lagg really that much at all. Its very playable. Its definately noticeable, but hasent been bad enough for me to consider turning down the res or turning off AA yet. Key werd..YET. No clue what fps is but im sure it never much over 30-35.

I will try playing with AA off tonight but without any AA you can definately see the jaggies. I dont like it. I should go back and play FarCry. Now that i have hardware that can play it fully maxed out and not even flinch.

the price and the fact that there rnt better videocards than the 8600 in stock,so i should wait like 3 monthes for a better one.remember i live in Uruguay.

Well finally i bought my new computer and i am now enjoying of one of the best games i had ever seen "crysis" the graphics r really impressive i set them on med-high,the storyline is also very good and the gameplay is really fun as well.
