Shalom Everyone!
In a month or so I will be getting a new cellphone/plan and was wondering if anyone here has a cellphone they are fond of and would recommend. So far I've had my eyes on T-Mobile and the Sidekick LX because I'm 16 years old and that's my style LOL :p. Everyone my age does a lot of texting so I'm interested in any phone that's good with that, preferably a QWERTY keypad. Blackberry Pearl has been looking promising as well.
Let us know what kind of communication device you're packin' or a phone you recently owned and DISLIKED!
Much Thankz0rz Broskis,

Hi Jr Ranger! I was a long time hold out on ever getting a cell phone. Took alot of ribbing on being Techno-Challenged. B ut I broke down last Christmas and got Mrs. Clutch and myself a couple of Razr cells with AT&T. I think they have pretty good coverage. Not sure about texting. Still having trouble with a full sized keyboard..

That BlackJack looks cool, it's only $100 after mail-in-rebate if you order it online from AT&T w/ a 2 year contract, I'll look into that.

I'd recommend steering clear of a Blackberry Pearl. My buddy got one and had to send it back... it was broken out of the box... the second one didn't work much better. He gave up on it after the salesperson at the store said everyone was having problems with them.
I think he went with one of the Palm Treo models and loves it.

Well this might be the wrong provider, and it doesn't have a qwerty pad, but I like sliding phones instead of flip, so I now have the LG Mint Chocolate, its very nice.... touch sensitive buttons... nano SD card slot, just about everything i need, oh and bluetooth to transfer all my pictures and music to the phone without buying the crap expensive cable...
-just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the input CRX. It seems like the popular phones always have problems.

Dont ever text. It causes people to die every day by the carload. And you dont want to be one of them. Texting kills kids!!!
Adults too, but only because we are trying to figure out how to type on those small keys while driving.

My friend has a Pearl (3rd one after the dogs ate the first two) and can't live without it. He's buying one for his wife soon too.
Really just depends on how abusive you are to phones. I have had the cheapest free phones, and a 300+ phone, and both work about the same. But I take care of them, don't sit on them, drop them, etc.
If you treat it like a disposable device, it will become one, no matter how good everyone else says it is.

well, my brother and I both have the Voyager by LG (actually it's called the LG VX 10000, but verizon wanted a cool name for it), and it has a touch screen and a QWERTY keyboard. it's pretty nice, and texting on it is easy (you can txt on the touch screen and on the keyboard... helps a lot when you're in class), but if you do get it, make sure you get a data plan for it, because the $1.99 a MB data usage charge is killer. I've been in the 20+ MB a month, so the unlimited data for ~$10 a month has saved me a yelling from the father. And VCast TV is a fun little gimmick, if it works in your area.
