Gears of War - PC

In order to play this game in coop will I have to have something like xbox live installed? Is there a subscription or anything fancy I will need to play this on the PC?

GoW PC will have nothing to do with Xbox Live as far as I know. The only game I am aware of that does any Xbox Live/PC crossover is Shadowrun.
