Tribes

The original Tribes in the series is being redesigned for re-release [eventually] as 'Ascension'. Can anyone find out more details on this? The company name is RenWerx. This game was an absolute blast with jet packs, deployable remote weapons [turrets etc.] flying vehicles, and bases with resupply. The original Tribes was a long time favorite of Ranger's and mine, and the new game is supposed to retain those features.

I loved Tribes. It was my second FPS after Q2 LMCTF.

I love the skiing and Renegades was my favorite mod. Busting out the ELF gun and just draining heavies dry makes me smile :)

Ascension is a free sci-fi multiplayer FPSZ game for the PC. In Ascension, teams of players are pitted against one another as opposing factions that are fighting for a victory that will bring reputation to their name and honor to their faction.

The FPSZ genre is an expansion on your traditional FPS genre. The Z represents advanced player movement on the Z plane, generally accomplished through the use of jetpacks.
