Try reseating your video card to see if maybe its not getting a good enough connection to the motherboard. If that doesn't do it then your card could be getting too hot so check to see if the fan on the card is working as well.

Could be overheating, could also be not enough power from the supply.

if it used to work chances are its not suddenly overheating or something similiar, it very well may be that your card is just starting to finally die. Definitly clean out your case and ensure it has good air flow though, reseat it like mentioned, and if none of that works, try uninstalling your drivers and ect. Occassionally they may get corrupted. When i started to have video card problems it was simply that the inside of my case just got too dirty, and somehow the dirt had managed to find a way into the pci express slot.

lol, never heard of a special connector to the Mb from a vid card, perhaps maybe its the power for the fan??? lol

well if that doesn't fix it, I have encountered soemthing similar, check these:

-connection to motherboard (unscrew it take it out and put it back in and screw it back in is good)
-that the fan is spinning
-general temperature of heatsink (touch it, if you can stand it, or if it is hot enough to hold your hand on for a bit it is ok)
-connection to monitor cable (isn't loose, or missing a pin, or have a bent pin)

take the side cover off, get a house fan a blow into case, if problem persists, its not over heating.

the thing that makes it seem unlike an overheating problem is the fact that its doing it immediately... not saying its impossible for that to happen but even when I was having issues with my overheating card it took several minutes for it to get to the point that it shut down or started distorting my screen... i can't imagine it goes from that to overheating instantly but I might be wrong.

I wonder if he's talking about the PSU connector to the video card?

is it not a stabdard 4 pin molex connector off your power supply that needs to be connected? Power supplys have extra cables.

When is gets about 105 F here in houston and the air conditioner is having problems keeping up I go out and spray the condenser fins with a hose. Maybe that will work on your video card as well. :)

Ha Ha, yea. Or maybe not..... maybe wanna try swapping out hose with condensed air can.... but that would be a short lived solution.
