New workstation

So my boss told me to buy myself a new workstation, but to keep it under $4k

Just got it yesterday...this beast is fast...it's about as tall as a small horse...but damn...

Quad Core Xeon X5482 3.2GHZ
4GB Memory
300GB 15,000 RPM SAS Drive
It's only got a 256MB Nvidia card, but since it's a workstation and not a game machine, it's sufficent.

My "Vista Experience" Scores are all around 5.9

Anyone that knows me knows I'd rather be running Gentoo Linux on it, but alas we are a Windows shop, and when in Rome

I run Ubuntu and use VirtualBox to run XP to do the few work-related things I HAVE to have Windows for. Most of what I do is Java Development, so I can do that on Linux just fine.

it's a shit video card, so I can't imagine I'd have anything even respectable on 3D Mark would i?

probably not, but would be neat to see. CPU score should be higher than mine i would image. I have the 3Ghz quad.............
