I'm used to getting around 30+ fps no matter where i am. I was askin around guild chat and a few friends if they had any idea why i was getting single digit frames.

I believe it was sixtie who told me that since i'm on a laptop heat would reduce my frames since it happened to him. behold, he was right.

I found an air cooling pad designed for laptops. i didnt believe it at first, but i cant refuse the facts that my frames jumped right back up to 20-30 in shatt.

Its ergonomic incline helps my wrists feel more comfortable and for longer so thats also a plus.

Something to think about desktop or laptop, if your frames have been in the gutter recently, add a fan or increase the air circulation around your pc and u should see a change for the good. if nothing else, it will keep you components running longer.

Thanks sixtie!

You were experiencing thermal protection, in the newer processors they will automatically step down the operating frequency, thus reducing voltage requirements when they become to hot. Especially in laptops, desktops are a little more forgiving before they step down.

Yeah...yr fps would REALLY be screwd up if you don't have anything to cool it down...My brother had a laptop that would constantly overheat and he wasn't able to play games very smoothly without having to w8 every 5 minutes to cool it down. Not only that...we were worried it would melt the plastic table surface that he would use! All we did was put a washcloth under his lappy and so far, it's wrkd!! :D Such a genious!!

I didnt believe you at first because i was running temp monitoring software and i bought a cooling pad and placed the laptop in the coolest room on a hard lamanent surface.. i could have sworn heat was not an issue.

Ima doofus (see avatar), i took the damn thing apart and one of the heat sinks looked like the lint that comes outta the trap in the dryer ';p

Ouch.. thanks for the tips guys!
