Hey all. Ok, here is the deal. I work for a law firm and the Oregon Bar changed a form that we use, but they only prepare it in Microsoft Word. It doesn't convert properly when I open it with Word Perfect. So if anybody is interested in helping out with this one, I would REALLY appreciate it. My boss is willing to pay for your time. If you need/want to talk about your fee's up front, please let me know.
The attachment is what I've been working on. I really don't care if you just convert it or have to start from scratch and recreate the document. All that we care about is that it looks EXACTLY the same.

Edit - Ok, the file size was too big to just upload it. Here is the link to their web site http://www.wcb.oregon.gov/pdf_file/eform.htm.
The document that I need is the very first one listed under "hearings".
Wow good luck with that one. I am MOS certified and I could barely recreate that on word let alone wordperfect because there are a couple features there that word is using that wordperfect does not which is probably why it doesn't convert easily (I tried and failed). You should tell htem it is time to upgrade to word.

Thanks for trying. This should be possible to do in Word Perfect (currently using version 9 which is the same level as Microsoft Word from what I hear) because the form that we have been using looks just like it, just a couple new box's added and moved around a little.
To clarify on the box's, with Word you can just click them and it fills in the "X" for you. I really don't care about that. I care about it looking the same. I can fill those box's in by hand or typing in an "X". Doesn't really make much difference.
But yes Elly, you have no idea how much I hate that we use W.P. over Word. My life would be soooooo much easier if we used Word. Our in house tech (my boss's husband) claims that W.P. is more "secure" and "safer" when saving documents. Plus, my boss is an old dog. Once she gets in a habit, almost impossible to get her to look at changing something :(

Is there a free version of word perfect I could download so I could convert it over for you, or at least give it an attempt?

As far as I can tell, there is not a free version available even for demo :( It's a pretty extensive program just like Microsoft Word, so I really don't think I would be able to find any "legal" free versions out there.

What you might want to try in this situation is to scan the document as an image. Then use a program such as Adobe to run optical character recognition (OCR) and just save the file as a *.wpd or whatever word perfect uses.
Maybe that will work, then tell your boss that you came up with the money saving idea and get a promotion :D
