Due to inactivity by Jett, our COD 4 server will be shutting down at the end of the month. Unless we receive at least $34.00 in donations, we will be unable to provide a server. if you are willing to donate, please visit our COD 4 for instructions on how to donate to it. I will help contribute to setting up a new server for COD-WW. Let me know what you need to get it going. It would be nice to keep our COD 4 server up for a couple more months, but I'm for doing without it if we have enough interest in starting one for the new game. Any votes for this, and who can help with the money? Omega pays for vent and thats already more than generous. Thanks to all for the good times and help with COD4! [DSRU, Omega, Willow, Ranger]

How active is the server? Many JETTS play on it still? If so I wouldn't mind forking over a little to help out but only if its actually going to use...

I go out and purchase a new gaming machine partly to play with Jett in the new CoD game and once again the party is over before I even get to the dad gum door.

A free server sounds great Liquid. I still love the game after a year of playing and the new one will take a while to catch on anyway. I'll look for you guys when Liquid gets it ready, and I'll be on our current server this afternoon.

Unfortunately, COD4 doesn't have (as far as i know) a buddy list or anything. However, if you got COD4 via steam (like I did), you can see other steam buddies playing it that way. And I feel your pain...I rarely get a game on release day, so I'm always a bit behind. I think i managed to play with some Jett CoD4 peeps like one time. :)

mmmmmm, knew it was coming. We can't expect D to be forkin out for a server that not enough people in the community play. It's because our membership numbers are a lot lower now post CS days and there hasn't been a common game that everyone in the community is into so don't fret. Everyone should realize this now, I know our leaders do. So until that game comes along we'll be breaking off into pods of gaming delight. hehe
Go Liquid, that sounds great. I'd still love to play with Pauper, Tank and RB the newbies and everyone. Have they felt the sting of my Scorpion yet? And remember to always check your 6 because you never know when Gawrnak might be silently creepin up on your sorry ass. "AAAHHHH! I GOT KNIFED!"

I am installing a linux virtual machine right now, and have already downloaded the linux dedicated server for 1.7. The server needs some additional ram before I can bring the same vm online for public access. I just ordered 8gigs, so that should be enough to run my other VM's and this at the same time.

Well I guess I saw this coming, server was nearly always empty every time I checked on it.
It'll be hard to match the CS days, because back then, CS was the ONLY big online FPS... now there are so many, the logistics involved in aligning a community to just one/two common games don't seem feasible.
Here's to the glory days, 1999-2003-ish!

I've never played on the COD4 server, since I joined Jett to play Raven-Shield. I do have COD4, so before it shuts down I'll play on the server.
Good luck with the free server Liquid, I hope it works. I've wanted to play with you guys and I hope I'll still get to.
